Our Purpose

Our purpose is to help teachers make editing and revising clear, engaging, and meaningful, so students learn not only to recognize stronger writing, but to explain why it works and create it for themselves.

At Teach BIG, we believe editing and revising deserve more than a last-minute review, a worksheet of corrections, or the familiar direction to “go back and check your work.” Students need to understand what to look for, why it matters, how to make a thoughtful change, and when to leave effective writing alone.

Teachers deserve that clarity, too.

Our professional learning and instructional resources bring together content knowledge, hands-on experiences, purposeful practice, distractor analysis, and our five thinking levels. We connect the skill being taught with the decisions students must make, both when selecting an answer and when improving their own writing.

We want teachers to leave our seminars with more than enthusiasm. We want them to leave with deeper understanding, useful teaching language, and resources that help turn a good training experience into ongoing classroom learning.

The goal is not simply to help students find the right answer. It is to help them become the kind of thinkers who can explain, apply, and defend it.
