We Do the Research. You Stay in the Loop.
This page brings together the work we do behind the scenes: reviewing information published by the Texas Education Agency, researching assessment questions, and sharing relevant takeaways from the meetings, presentations, and webinars we attend.
Rather than keeping that learning in our own notes, we want to make it useful to you.
Here, we gather important links, highlight relevant updates, and provide teacher-friendly explanations that help you connect an announcement to the bigger picture. Our aim is to help you answer three practical questions:
What do I need to know? Where can I find the official information? What might this mean for my students and my instruction?
We want you to feel included in the conversation, even when you cannot be in the room.
Less Searching. Clearer Connections.
Knowing that a resource exists is only helpful when you can find it.
That is why this page is designed to serve as an organized starting point for assessment information, with clearly labeled links to official resources such as assessment blueprints, scoring guidance, released questions, practice resources, and agency updates. TEA publishes these resources across its assessment webpages; our role is to help you locate and navigate the information relevant to your work. Texas Education Agency
We pair those links with context: what a resource addresses, why you might need it, and which questions it can help answer.
Whether you are preparing for a team discussion, examining scoring expectations, checking an announcement, or trying to understand an upcoming change, we want this page to be a place you can return to with confidence.
The goal is not to give you more information to sort through. It is to make important information more accessible and useful.
Clear About the Source. Honest About What Is Still Developing.
Our commitment is to distinguish officially published guidance, information shared during meetings, and our own instructional interpretations.
We aim to identify sources and dates, make clear when information is preliminary, and revise our summaries as official details are clarified. When a question remains unanswered, we would rather acknowledge it than turn an assumption into an answer.
Our explanations are here to help you understand and navigate the information, not replace the original guidance. Direct links allow you to read the source, review the details, and bring informed questions to your campus or district assessment team.
Keeping the Student at the Center
Staying informed is not simply about knowing what will be on a test. For us, it is about helping teachers make thoughtful decisions while keeping the larger purpose of language arts in view.
We want assessment information to support, not overshadow, the work of helping students read with understanding, write with purpose, revise thoughtfully, and edit effectively.
Assessment should be the middle of the learning conversation, not the end. The next best instructional step is what we should always be working toward.
This page exists to help you stay connected to that work: informed about expectations, included in the conversation, and supported as you decide what comes next.
We do the searching. We share what we learn. You have a place to turn.
